Sophie White was "Sculptor in Residence"
at Kingswood School in Bath 2003-2004.
She worked in a studio on site where she was available for
advise and also ran workshops for pupils from all years groups.
One extra curricular activity involved creating a giant squirrel
where six year nine pupils worked as her "apprentices".
The pupils first made their own squirrels in chickenwire and
cement and then using the same techniques worked on the large
steel armature that I had welded.
She was also "Sculptor in Residence" at St
Briavel's Castle at the Wye Valley international
music festival last January.
Sophie runs work shops for adults and young people for City
of Bristol College, Cirencester College Corsham Art centre, and
The Blackthorn centre near Swindon. She also runs workshops
for adults with mental health issues and brain injuries
at Windmill Hill City Farm and the Headway Centre in Bristol.
